OMG!!! So I went to Koch Records last night for a press day to promote Slim Thug’s new album. Anyhoo, during my rant yesterday about Jim Jones, I had completely forgotten that he was a regular employee of the label (Vice President of Urban A&R). So I’m sitting there waiting on our turn to tape with Slim, and I glance up to who looking right in my face – THAT DAMN JIM JONES!!! He was coming from the back where the employee offices are with an entourage of people, but I think most of them were employees trying to get the hell out of the office after a long day just like anybody else. All I could think when he averted his eyes from my deer caught in headlights look was, “Thank GOD I still fly under the radar – knowing Jim, there might’ve been a situation!!!!” LMAO!!!

While I was there, I heard some interesting tidbits of information from some of the other people attending the press day about Jim. I was told not to read too much into his public persona. I also heard he is extremely smart and that this is not his first executive position at a label. If that last part is true, then that could explain why Koch appointed him VP of anything…although I am still not completely convinced that this was not a move on Koch’s part to appease the artist that is probably keeping them afloat. I mean, listen to how Jim felt about Koch less than a year ago in the video below and you tell me:
